Adventures Offshore is a sail training charity based on the UK east coast and offering a wide range of offshore sailing adventures to young people and adults, in UK waters and beyond.

Operating successfully since 1964, the unique experiences we offer provide participants with opportunities for challenge, excitement and adventure; whilst sailing offshore on our modern Oyster 49 ketches, Ocean Scout and Offshore Scout.

We believe that the non-sailing skills learned and social interactions had on board our boats are at least as important as the sailing itself.

Therefore, whilst we are registered as an RYA training centre, this is not our primary focus. Our main aim is to provide adventure and personal development opportunities - offshore sailing is merely the tool we use.

We believe that offshore sailing provides the perfect environment for young people to "learn by doing" and the development of personal confidence, team working and other important life-skills.

Excited crew head out to sea for the first time (River Orwell)As part of the worldwide Scouting movement, we share and aim to supplement the objectives of The Scout Association.

Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

Here at Adventures Offshore, we use offshore sailing as a tool to achieve these objectives, by providing young people with the opportunity to participate in what we believe to be a uniquely adventurous and exciting activity in a challenging environment.

Our charitable aims

The purpose of Adventures Offshore is to give young people an opportunity to obtain life skills that will contribute to their personal development.
